Need to reformat my friend's XP laptop from HP. Help please?.
Hello everyone, I have to reformat my girlfriend's laptop. There HP XP installed on a circa 2004, but there is no backup partition, and can not find the installation disk. I have copies of XP Home OEM for Dell, Gateway, and others - but not HP. I want to install a legal copy of XP for her. Ideas? Can I use a Dell OEM disc and use of a changer to change the OEM COA serial port on your laptop? That this work still does not allow this? If MSFT is asked to call I do not care, since it is activated. Any help solving this problem would be appreciated. If you happen which has a link to an FTP server from HP or OEM XP ISO general could use with a COA that would be awesome. Once again, I'm looking for a legal solution to this. I could install a version of XP Pro BS myself, but this is not an option for your line of work. I will certainly save the best answer.
Just to use the CD when prompted to use the CD key sticker on HP and should not give any problems. I've done it before.
