Please help me with this math problem?
A farmer has chickens and rabbits. They have a total of 50 heads and 140 feet. How chickens and rabbits for the farmer how it is? Is there an equation for this problem? How can I find?
The chickens have 2 legs, 4 rabbits. Let x = hens, y = rabbit. x + y = 50 2x + 4y = 140 Then you can use any method you choose to solve the system of equations. I will use substitution: x + y = 50 is x = 50 - Plug And in the other equation: 2 (50 - y) + 4y = 140 100 - 2y + 4y = 140 100 + 2y = 140 2y = 40 y = 20 Now plug in a equation to find x: x + (20) = 50 x = 30 There are 30 chickens and 20 rabbits.
