Can I install updates to Windows Vista on the Mac partition without a previous operating system?
I have an iMac I partition and install in Vista. My question is, is it possible to buy only the upgrade version of Windows to install on the Mac? I currently have XP (PC) to update and new Mac, so it would be possible to also install the updated version or if I buy the new version?
Everyone here is 100% wrong. I have personal experience of the issue, and you can google and find the same thing. You can install Windows Vista with the Vista upgrade without an operating system installed. Thus how it works: put the disc and install it on a partition. This prompted a CD key - Do not give it, install the trial version of Vista. After installing Vista, run the installation disk in Vista. This time will give you the opportunity to upgrade to Windows Vista, and if you put in your CD key and install as an upgrade, operating, activate, and it is legitimate. - Because this type of Scuba Steve said, is exactly the process that will be used. No reason to pay a penny more for the full version the upgrade.
